‘THIS OLDE HOUSEWALK’ 2010
PROUDLY SHOWCASED
HISTORIC HOMES, CHURCH and
BEAUTIFUL NEIGHBORHOOD
CAPA’s September Housewalk went very well for being the first time at this date and considering the economic climate, there were about 480 tickets sold. It was a beautiful day and all our guests seemed to like the new date. CAPA will start working on the next Housewalk with three possible homes. If you are interested in showcasing your home and being on the next walk in September, please call the CAPA line.
First, we would like to thank all the owners who graciously opened their homes and buildings: Mr. & Mrs. Magosky for the P. Seth Magosky Museum of Victorian Life & Joliet History, The All Saints Greek Orthodox Church, Dennis & Cindy Goron at 1207 Taylor Street, Mark & Diana Kowalizko at 1212 Taylor Street, Brian & Eileen McKee at 420 Whitney Avenue and Peggy Field at 206 N. Raynor Avenue.
Also, we would like to thank the florists who donated flowers to each participating home: Blossoms & Blooms, Palmer House, Labo’s, The Petal Shoppe, Joliet Floral and Designs by Diedrich.
Next, we need to thank our sponsors: D’Arcy Motors for the trolley, the University of St. Francis for the musicians, the Voyager Group for the brochures, JD Brown & Company for the booties and Giegerich Sontag Funeral Home and Deaton Kennedy Company for the guest books.
Our other sponsors included Bob Martin Auto Sales, Marketing Unlimited/Mark Turk, Mayor Art Schultz, Old Fashion Pancake House, Tom Giarrante and Barton Carrols. Please support these sponsors who helped make our Housewalk possible.
Thank you to the Coordinators who helped the homeowners: Tracy Puddicombe, John Colbuzzi, Kathleen Linehan, Betty Lorch, Dan and Sandy Jones, Michael and Jillian Sawyer, Melissa Brown, Cindy Jackson, Patty Kella and Sharon Keenon.
Thank you to all the people who volunteered to host the porch lunches and to all the people who volunteered throughout the day.
A big thanks also goes out to the Ellis family for opening their home and preparing lunch for our volunteers and home owners.
